THE MAIN CHARACTER IN
LOVE TURNS THE TIDE
Tell us a little about yourself: Previously, a feature writer for a newspaper in Cedar Forks, Georgia, I've moved to Destin, Florida, to take a new job at The Sun Dial newspaper. I also suffered a heartbreaking split-up with my fiance, the no-good louse, Jay Marias. I'm doing a lot of soul searching, trying to make sense of my situation and seeking peace through my faith.
Oh dear, have you discovered anything interesting or fun here? I know no one in Destin, but I'm looking forward to meeting people. I have walked on the beach, watched the sea gulls and sandpipers and marveled at the sun casting its reddish, golden tints over the emerald green water.
That's a start. What do you dread doing most? For my first assignment at The Sun Dial I have to write a big feature about Vic Deleona, Destin's most influential real estate developer. Every time I think I've finished the article he asks for another business appointment. He's extremely handsome, and I think he might be interested in me. But more than anything else in the world I fear getting hurt again, so right now the thing I dread most is keeping an appointment with Vic.
Hmmm, so the thing you're most afraid of is getting hurt? Yes, I never imagined anyone could experiecne the pain I endured, when I found out that monster Jay not only dated other women while we were engaged, no less, but that he beat one of them nearly to death. What do you want out of life now? I'm just trying to make it from one day to the next. The thing I'd most like in life is to successfully complete my temporary job with The Sun Dial in Destin and return home where I at least know that my friends and family love me.
Is your faith an important part of your life? Absolutely! Without my faith I couldn't cope with the heartache I have from Jay, who deceived me so badly. Not to mention, that I'm alone in an area strange to me.
Other than your faith what's the most important thing to you? Love, expecially right now, I need the love of my close friends and family.
Do you like to read? If so, what genre? I read my daily devotional book and my Bible, but if you mean commercial works, I'll say romance and mystery.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would that be? I would make the shell I'm building around myself so hard no one could even put a knick in it, because I never want anyone to get close enough to me to hurt me again.
Wow! How about animals? Do you have a pet? No, but I feed the ducks that swim on the lake near my condo, and I love to watch the sea gulls, herons, pelicans and sandpipers in Destin.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I'd travel to the time I met Jay, so I could walk away from him before he broke my heart.
